5¾ ”, sev, rec, TET – Very dear friend
and daylily hybridizer, Vera McFarland,
lived in St. Augustine, FL. From the late
sixties to the early eighties, she had
numerous popular introductions such as
Super Double Delight, Ginger Bread
Man, and Solano Bulls Eye, just to
name a few. Vera created many types of
daylilies, however her passion was
always doubles. We decided some
years back that, when we had a double
good enough, we wanted it to carry her
name. Vera McFarland Memorial has
peach-pink flowers that are very round
and ruffled with extremely heavy
substance. Although flowers are usually
so full that pollen in difficult to find, this
one always has a pistol and is very pod
fertile. Nicely branched scapes are 24”,
carrying up to 22 buds.
